What's The Stereotype: DJ Series & Fundraiser

Tune in with our friends @ricouno @ninamendoza & @veronx.io for their first “What’s the Stereotype Live DJ Set Series” stream release via YouTube at 9pm PST August 5th.

We are contributing a $250 gift certificate for a raffle for every $20 donated into a one-month-long donation drive for the Yarrow Intergenerational Society for Justice., a program that supports youth and low-income immigrant seniors in Chinatown Vancouver and the Downtown Eastside, and SWAN Vancouver, culturally-specialized supports for im/migrant women engaged in indoor sex work - with an equal split of all funds raised going to these two causes. More information @rutsworldwide

100% of proceeds go to SWAN Vancouver and Yarrow Intergenerational Society for Justice.

What's The Stereotype is a three-part pre-recorded live DJ performance series with DJs Niña Mendoza, x/o and Rico Uno filmed on the patio of The Polygon Gallery with an unobstructed view of downtown Vancouver. The concept for the first edition of "What's The Stereotype: Live DJ Set Series" is to challenge current misconceptions about what it means to be a Canadian of Asian descent living in BC, explore the different sounds that a contemporary "Asian DJ" can encompass, and to highlight an often overlooked and rarely celebrated demographic of artists.

DJ Series YouTube Premiere Schedule:

Rico Uno - Aug 5 9:00 PM PST
Niña Mendoza - Aug 12 9:00 PM PST
x/o - August 19 9:00 PM PST
