NIRVANA STUDIO I ADAPTURE

At ADAPTURE, we are driven by both technology and creativity, and are curious as to how these elements push us to new levels of innovation. We strive to make connections with like minded people who share the pursuit of these ideals. While we were in Montreal we stopped by to visit our friend Tyrone at Nirvana Tattoo Studios.

During our visit, we got a sneak peek at the development of @svc.rnd and talked about their approach to creating an ecosystem in where their team can share resources and help each other to work on projects together.

The studio was an open space where we could share stories about each other as individuals and how it brought us to where we are now. Everyone is unique to themselves and it is a treat to hear about different perspectives, and have honest conversations.

TYRONE @trnplmr

Ty is a multidisciplinary designer that has a strong sense of future tech design language. He’s worked with mediums from web development, graphics design, 3D rendering and more. We’ve been following him through instagram for a while now ever since he’s worked on a few projects with mutual friends at UTOPIA and INTERNATIONAYUL

We got into the topic of talking about sports and how it had impacted our lives and helped direct us in defining who we are. He mentioned how he grew up running track, but transitioned into Rugby during university. Although he was talented in rugby, he decided to focus his energy into design school. The takeaway from this is that playing different sports helped realize what he’s really into and was able to help shift focus on not only what he was good at, but what he truly enjoys. It was able to lead him down a path to where he is now.

STUDIO NIRVANA @nirvana.montreal

As I entered the studio, I was greeted by the team and went straight into the graffiti filled smoke room. We all had a seat and sparked up the cigarettes along with our drinks and we started talking about our common interest in techwear. Our discussions were open and led to several topics about our past experiences of work, to upbringing as immigrants from the east coast to west to getting smacked as kids growing up.

In the main section of the studio, the well lit, futuristic, industrial space is home to various creatives ranging from tattoo artists, garment designers, photographers, barbers, and much more. Although it was down in the basement, the space was still Nirvana for all.

Along with his graphic work, Ty also runs a 3D rendered jewelry brand MICROARCHTECTURE© / @uarch.bio out of the studio. As I was editing the photoshoot, Ty was rendering two rings on the spot as each piece is unique to its own and created through Volumetric Reaction Diffusion Mapping. Once the ring is rendered it is submitted and then printed in 3D. A mold is then made in a local jewelry studio and then casted into either silver or gold. I was fortunate enough to be the first to see the order in the generative process in action.

SVC @svc.rnd

(SVC.RND-Service Rendered) is an interdisciplinary design practice focusing on visual and object oriented solutions within the fields of apparel/garment design and development, branding, industrial design, motion graphics and web. The team consists of various studio members that collaborate as a collective to work on client projects. We were able to see how Nirvana studios had spaces for each one of the creatives to work with and also close enough that everyone could work together as a collaboration.

After having engaging conversations and countless cigarettes, we were getting hungry and the SVC team had to work late on a project proposal that was coming up. We looked back at the connections we made and was grateful to be able to work next to these talented creatives and also see and work in their creativity channeling space called NIRVANA Studios.
